| Now what is a 'twist-out straw set' I hear you cry! Well I'm a big afro fan. I love my fro and have survived for a long time on fro alone! Then I got into twisting my fro, but having done a lot of extension twists myself, I found I tended to roll the strands as I twisted them down (this is the only way to get smooth tight twists with extension hair). When I took it out I didn't end up with a crimpy look but more of a spiral coil like a straw set -a Twist-out Straw Set! Get some twist gel and some hair oil/shea butter on the strand and as you twist roll your hair in-between your thumb and your fore finger. Make sure you get the roll going from the root so you don't end up with the roots being really spongy. At the end of the twist leave about an inch free a rub a little more moisturiser or or alcohol free gel at the end and twirl it round until it curls up. Keep the twists in for a few days and then unravel them slowly, then carefully split the spiral. The more you split the bigger it will get. |
