hairrecipes So your hair's naturally sexy! Then why not pop into your kitchen and whip up some naturally sexy recipes to treat your tresses. The following recipes are just a few taken from the fantastic 'Mixed Up' by Ayesha Fleary - a book of recipes for better hair care specifically geared for women with tightly curled hair. Available for purchase or download at www.lulu.com.

Quick Protein Conditioner
2 egg yokes
¼ cup of water

Beat the mixture together and massage through hair well. Put on a plastic cap for thirty minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water (not hot). Make sure all of the egg solution is rinsed from the hair (do not use shampoo). Dry your hair and style as usual.

Cucumber/oil hair treatment
1 egg
1 eggshell’s worth of olive oil
1 quarter of a peeled cucumber

This mixture is good for those who swim in a pool often. Blend the egg, olive oil and peeled cucumber. Spread evenly through your hair, leave on for 10 minutes and then thoroughly rinse.

Mayo Protein Conditioner
½ cup approx. of Mayonnaise
1 beaten egg
¼ cup approx. of honey
cinnamon
4 drops of peppermint oil

Mix it all in a bowl. Apply on hair and scalp and leave it on for about an hour. Rinse with cool water, shampoo or co-wash, then do a diluted vinegar rinse (see below).

Avocado & Mayo Deep Conditioner
1 small jar of real mayonnaise
1/2 of an avocado

Put together in a medium bowl and squish together with your hands until it's a minty green color. Smooth into hair all the way to the tips. Put on a shower cap or wrap your head with cling film wrap.

Baking soda Clarifying
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 cup of warm water (use 2 cups if you want the baking soda to dissolve more).

Combine ingredients in a plastic bowl. It may not seem like a lot, but DO NOT use more baking soda or your hair will become hard and brittle! Pour mixture over hair, either a little at a time or all at once. I pour a little at a time and massage in. I let sit for a minute or two then I rinse. I follow this up with a deep conditioner.

A few words from Ayesha "I can’t tell you how wonderful this is for getting rid of build up. Use this instead of shampoo. IT DOES clean your hair. Trust!"

White Vinegar Dandruff Remover
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup of White Vinegar

Combine ingredients then apply directly to the scalp. Use before shampooing. Apply twice a week.

Honey Rinse
2 teaspoons honey
4 cups warm water

Combine in a large bowl. After washing hair, pour mixture through hair. Don’t wash out. Dry as usual. Gives hair a lovely sheen.

Moisturizing Spray (for super dry hair)
½ part Vegetable glycerin
½ part water
3 drops of rosemary or peppermint or eucalyptus oil to inhibit mold growth.

Combine ingredients in an 8oz spray bottle. Shake well with each use. I use these measurements based upon how much moisture my hair needs. Adjust portions to fit your hair needs. *Use daily to maintain moisture.

A few words from NS Creator Ebony "This has become one of my staple products. Never has my hair been so soft! Glycerin is a humectant, which means it draws moisture from the air around you, so it helps to retain moisture... it's fab!"
